Soon to be grandma here. What do your kids grandparents do that you love? Appreciate? Hate?

My only real irritation with her is her ‘suggestions’, but she doesn’t get pissy when we don’t take them lol

Beyond her craziness she loves the kids and is always up for taking them, she loves to have them around but isn’t super pushy about it.

My mom is wayyyy over protective. I really think that’s the only thing that drives me crazy. They are kids, they are bound to get a bump and scrape here and there... let em figure it out (within reason of course!)

I love that they know they can talk to her about anything, which they do a lot of the time. She’s very involved and loves spending time with them. She doesn’t show any favoritism to any of her 9 grandchildren, though she does live with us so our kids do get a lot more of her time but she’s goes out of her way to let the other kids know how loved and special they are to her.

She’s also more of an “experience” and making memories type grandparent vs. here let me buy you stuff so you’ll love me type grandparent- super important to me. Their other grandparent is the latter and they want nothing to do with her so that kind of speaks for itself I guess.

My mom and my MIL are great. I have no issues with either of them and neither does Dh. Even though they both live in FL, they are super involved with the girls. They come up and get them for vacations, go on vacations with us, come up for performances and just encourage the girls to be their best version of themselves. I couldn't ask for better grandmothers. My FIL is the strong silent type, but a complete marshmallow where his girls are concerned ( my girls and my niece). He absolutely adores them.

Nothing. I’m very appreciative of how great they are with the kids. How much they love them is everything to me. Things that bother other parents don’t bother me IE: sneaking candy or disciplining. Imo it takes a village and I’m not going to be petty as long as my kids are happy and loved-and they idolize their grandparents.

Just being there for your children and their children. Helping when asked and keeping your opinions to yourself. LOL.
