Now I don't have anything against smokers. My husband is a smoker. But even he agrees that smokers shouldn't get special privileges just because they smoke. Such as have extra breaks for smoke breaks. What about those who don't smoke? Why can't they have extra breaks too? Nope non smokers don't get extra breaks because we don't smoke. So we dont need that extra break that smokers get.

Or how about us that are forced to be exposed the second hand smoke from being out in public or in the workforce? Why should our health be compromised just because of your bad choices.

Lastly I just want to add I am highly allergic to ciggerette smoke. But my husband is considerate and will only smoke on the deck of our house so myself and our kids arent exposed to second hand smoke.

It is everyone's god given right to smoke if they want to but when others are around it is not just you the smoke is affecting. It is everyone around you. That pregnant woman and her unborn baby sitting in the table right next to you is breathing in your second hand smoke. So are those kids with their parents and that elderly couple that just walked in. It affects everyone.

I can sympathize.  I work in a small vet office. Their are 9 of us. 3 of us dont smoke and we get very frustrated thst every time we need someone,  even our part time vet...they are put back smoking...

I don't know anywhere around here that grants extra breaks for those who smoke. You get your [/size]allotted[/color][/size] breaks and you either smoke during it or wait until the next guaranteed break.[/color]

[/size]Here in my area there is no indoor smoking allowed. No bars, no restaurants, nada. Outdoors then it's a different set of rules.  You need to be 300-500ft away from front entrances to smoke. Bars here send you out into their parking lot, or they will have a designated patio set up for people who smoke. [/color]

I did not know some places still did smoke breaks.


I do agree there are obnoxious smokers. My apartment has a community pool. I despise when a few of the moms who take their kids swimming decide that is the time to smoke. Like seriously, heffer? You cant wait till you are else where.


The pool isn't huge and the seating area is actually relatively close to the pool so everyone has to deal with it.

When I smoked I never got extra smoke breaks just because I smoked... Also I smoked outside and away from everyone when I did smoke so I wasn’t exposing anyone else to my smoke. I’m pretty sure the air you breathe everyday was far more of a threat to you than my sneaking a smoke in private...

I complained about the additional breaks smokers were given at work so I started taking a smoke break without the cigarette.  It was the perfect solution.

Allergic to cigarette smoke?  really?  How exactly does your body/mind react when you smell cigarette smoke?  Is it a different reaction when you smell fireplace smoke?  What about a campfire?  How would you react to forest fire smoke?

my son and I have bad reactions to cigarette smoke. it kicks up our asthma. fireplace smoke doesn't do it. I wouldn't know about forrest fire.

My partner's sister is a smoker (as we all are in our combined families), and works as a customer service representative at a bank. She takes her hourly smoke breaks, but, she works through lunch. All agree that it's a fair trade off.
