My best friend did the Brooks thing and loves her pair. They measured her, had her walk to see her gait, and everything under the sun to find a proper fitting pair. Said it was worth every penny.

Those are pricey...for something I'm going to have to replace in 6 months. I managed to find a pair of asics that fits well. Now I just need to break them in lol.

I buy either reebok or nike cross-trainers. Those are the only two brands that fit my foot comfortably. I have started buying them online. I look around for who has the lowest price. I prefer leather cross trainers because I wear them year round and the mesh ones just aren't warm enough in the winter time.

Oh yeah, I'm not buying shoes with mesh uppers anymore. I'm tired of having wet feet lol.

I too love DSW! I went over 10 years in flats only, thanks to rheumatoid arthritis. Now that it is under control, I'm back in heels again, and starting to again be comfortable and confident in them. Anyway, DSW is very friendly not only with the wide range of sizes, but also widths. I've bought two pair from them lately, my first was the Lady Couture Spicy Sandal, www.dsw.com/en/us/product/lady-couture-spicy-sandal/505382?activeColor=020 , 3 inch heel, and I liked them so much, I came back for the same thing, but with a platform and a higher heel, Lady Couture Dream Platform Sandal, www.dsw.com/en/us/product/lady-couture-dream-platform-sandal/505375?activeColor=020, 4 1/2 inch heel, 1 1/2 inch platform. Both are slingbacks, so I can wear them comfortably barefoot or in hose. I can pretty much go all day in the Spicy Sandals, but in the Dream Platforms, I have to give my feet an occasional break.
