Where do you all get shoes?
« on: May 13, 2019, 09:53:44 pm »
I need a pair of good running shoes and am having zero luck. I need something with decent arches and a wide sole. So far I've only found one pair that fits and both of the ones I have tried have had defective stitching on the inside that makes them uncomfortable. I have tried department stores and a couple of sporting goods stores.

So where do I go?

Have you tried an actual shoe store?

Only DSW. Do you mean like a mom n pop kind of place? My options are limited here and I can't afford to spend $150 on a pair of shoes.

I have high arches, and my favorite brand is Saucony. I've heard good things about the On Cloud running shoes, but have never tried them personally.

We have a Saucony store at our outlet mall that I usually shop.

We have a bunch of shoe stores around here and I can usually find something. You may have to check online.

I tried a lot of saucony shoes and all of the ones that I found were flat as a board and way too narrow for me.

I've heard good things about Brooks shoes. I like my Asics from Kohl's. They usually have some great deals on sneakers. I know they are having a giant sale right now. DSW might be another good place to pursue.

I have running shoes from New Balance and Asics. I have strange-shaped feet and have had good luck with both those brands fitting well and being comfortable.

I did find one pair of asics I really liked. There's something going on with the stitching though, so I'm going to have to take them back and see if they have another pair without that defect. If not I'll just have to keep looking.

Oo, I'll be down there on Thursday. I'll have to look and see if they have anything.

I have done that in the past, but I need a better quality shoe for running. The ones you find there just don't offer any real support or stability.

Go to Super Jock 'N Jill on Greenlake (https://www.superjocknjill.com/green-lake) to get fitted, then go to that brand's store and get what you need for a fraction of the price.

My best friend did the Brooks thing and loves her pair. They measured her, had her walk to see her gait, and everything under the sun to find a proper fitting pair. Said it was worth every penny.

Those are pricey...for something I'm going to have to replace in 6 months. I managed to find a pair of asics that fits well. Now I just need to break them in lol.
