DD is in so much trouble!
« on: January 10, 2019, 12:37:12 am »
DD is in 3rd grade. Academically she is doing very good. But her behavior and attitude suck! Her teacher she is being very sassy and talking back. She is also a ring leader in picking on other kids in her class. It is not to the point of bullying but could become that. Another parent has already met with the teacher and principal about this issue. She was given ISS for 5 days. I have asked that her teacher give her extra work too. At home she is grounded indefinitely. Her computer usage is limited to school needs only and will be supervised. No talking on the phone with friends, no TV and she will not be going to a skate party this weekend. She will be going to school only for at least 2 weeks. But I don't feel like this enough. What is something else I can do to punish her?

Way over the top. I would do the ISS, supervised computer and no tv for a week.

Why do you think this?

Sounds reasonable to me. Maybe see if you can find an age appropriate book on bullying for her to read while shes grounded?

The one time DS did something like this I had him hand write a note of apology to the kid he was mean to.

I'd be making her help out with chores, like wiping counters, maybe threaten to make her scrub a toilet. I don't tolerate bullying. But I think what your doing adequate.
