Is a 3 year old too young for chores? I am talking  small stuff liking picking up his toys and putting his clothes in the hamper.

No. But it has to be supervised. Like you have to be there to show, help, direct. Eventually they'll get it but you'll still have to be in the room. And anything more than like 12 toys is probably asking to much. Focus more on them helping you and less about them doing an independent chore.

A 3 year old is to young to do chores. However, 3 is the perfect age to start learning to do things. I would follow the advice of the previous poster. Patience, and making time to have the child help you.

Not too young at all, but you'll have to help him and remind him.

No, my daughter is 5 and has been doing ”chores” for a bit. Like emptying the dishwasher. By emptying I mean she stacks dishes and I put them away. She picks up her toys. She feeds the dog. She puts her laundry away. I have to straighten her drawers later. Little things.

3 years old can help out. They understand the concept but need to be supervised while doing it. Three is a great age to begin learning to be part of a family team that works together to get things done.

No. My one year old helps pick up his toys and puts his clothes in the hamper. With my three year old, I just say "clean up time" and he knows to pick up the room. You'll have to watch and guide them at first, but there's no reason why they can't and it's good for them to know how by that age. I don't consider those chores, we just call them responsibilities. He has other chores like cleaning the table for dinner, watering the plants, etc.
